Chief Moses » Principal's Message
Welcome to the Chief Moses Middle School website. We are working to make this a useful tool for our parents, students, and staff. We are excited to be able to serve our students and their families as they work through those difficult middle school years. I believe we have an incredibly gifted and caring group of adults working with the kids of Moses Lake both in the Moses Lake School District and here at CMMS. We are focused on creating successful learners. Our goal is to prepare kids for high school and beyond. I hope our expectations for students are high. I know our students are capable of great things, as long as we expect great things from them. Our theme again this year is, "Words Matter." Words hurt and heal. Words are the single most powerful tool in any community. We want our kids to be able to use words well, to use words to build, not tear down, to encourage, not discourage, and to show their readiness for the world ahead. Help us in this endeavor.
We have experienced significant growth over the last two years, with over 980 students enrolled for 2010/2011. We are proud of our new gym, which is open and in use. We are using five portables with ten classrooms housed in those portables.
This is a great place to be and will continue to be so as we work hard to help our students prepare to be world class citizens. Mark Johnson, Principal Kristi Bateman, Assistant Principal Diana McFaul, Assistant Principal School of Distinction 2007
